Liturgical Ministries

Those who serve as liturgical ministers are motivated by the desire to be of love and service to the parish community during the celebration of liturgies on weekends, weekdays and special feasts. They become part of a team of ministers who enhance the prayerful celebration of liturgy. Contact for all Liturgical Ministries except where noted:

Sacristan

The sacristan oversees the overall set up of vessels, linens, books and all that is necessary for the prayerful celebration of liturgy

Lector/Reader

Lectors/Readers proclaim the first and/or second reading in the liturgy as well as the prayer of the faithful. At times the lector also prays the responsorial psalm and psalm response.

Extraordinary Minister of Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion assist in the distribution of the Eucharist under both species, the Body and Blood of Christ.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

A team of three or four adults work together to present the Liturgy of the Word for children about once a month during the 11 AM Mass. The scripture readings are adapted so that children may more easily understand the Word of God

Ushers

Ushers assist and greet parishioners as they come into Mass, take up the offering, distribute bulletins and attend to handicapped members.

Altar Servers

Boys and Girls from 4th grade and older as well as adults are invited to serve at weekend Masses. The altar server assists the priest as the Mass is celebrated. The altar servers contribute to the prayerful celebration of liturgy. This is a wonderful way of giving service within the parish community and becoming more familiar with the Liturgy.

Music Ministry

The purpose of the Music Ministry is to provide quality music that will enhance the spirituality of our services. Musicians, cantors and choir members are part of our music ministry. All are welcome. The music director provides regular liturgical preparation.
